Best thing about my Dickinson experience so far:
The best thing about Dickinson is the people I have met. Through both my classes and the clubs and organizations I have joined, I've found the people I call my best friends. Everyone I've met at Dickinson is so open and personable—they immediately make me feel like I belong.
Best thing about my major:
Through my biology labs, I can engage with my professor and classmates on a personal level. I also am able to have hands-on learning experiences, exploring the surrounding Pennsylvania regions. In addition, there are various professors I can meet with if I need guidance on anything regarding my major. Throughout my Dickinson experience, I have felt thoroughly supported along my career path.
About my internship:
I interned at Johns Hopkins Hospital with a midwife. During this time, I completed paperwork for the midwife’s patients and shadowed her as she examined patients. This internship provided me with valuable insight into the medical field and the opportunity to contribute to patient care. Not only did I gain experience in addressing patient needs, but I also observed the collaborative efforts of medical professionals in delivering comprehensive care. Next I'll be interning with a reproductive endocrinologist at Shady Grove Fertility in Maryland.
Most important thing I’ve learned so far:
Don’t be afraid to try out new opportunities. Engaging in clubs and volunteering is the best ways to meet new people and engage in new opportunities. By participating in various activities, students are able to be a part of the bigger Dickinson community.
