Helming Adweek’s 2024 Agency of the Year is all in a day's work

Ted Kohnen '00 (international business & management) is the CEO of the global agency Park & Battery, Adweek’s 2024 Agency of the Year and an Association of National Advertisers Agency of the Year two years running. Across his career, he's led key agency accounts such as Boeing, Columbia University, HP Enterprise, Meta, Oracle, Thermo Fisher Scientific, the State University of New York (SUNY), UBS and the U.S. Department of State.

And recently he returned to Dickinson as the Burgess Institute for the Global Economy's latest executive in residence to share his career experiences with current students—and to reflect on what Dickinson provided him along his journey.

"Dickinson teaches you to think like a CEO, think more holistically, think more broadly, be able to listen and accept more perspectives in the world, how to problem solve, how to make decisions," Kohnen says, "and that's what you need at every stage in your career."

Launched in the fall of 2024, the Burgess Institute for the Global Economy provides practical learning experiences, mentorships, industry experiences and networking opportunities to prepare students for successful futures in business and finance—no matter what major they're pursuing.
